A JEWISH OVERNIGHT CAMPING INCENTIVE PROGRAM

Give your child an unforgettable Jewish summer camp experience. Incentive grants of up to $1,800 are available for first-time campers attending a Jewish not-for-profit overnight camp. Income based grants of up to $1,000 are also available for second-year campers. With over 155 traditional and specialty camps to choose from, there is a camp perfectly suited for your child’s interests and needs.

FIRST-YEAR CAMPERS


One Happy Camper (OHC) is a national program that was created by the Foundation for Jewish Camp to increase awareness of Jewish overnight camping and expand enrollments at Jewish summer camps across North America. This innovative program is currently in place at over 40 Jewish communities throughout the United States. Research shows that kids who attend Jewish summer camp have a greater connection to the Jewish community as adults.

The Farash Foundation, in partnership with The Foundation for Jewish Camp, will provide $1,800 grants to campers attending Jewish overnight camp for the first time for more than 19 days.

Eligibility

  • Campers must consider themselves Jewish
  • Campers must reside in one of the following New York counties: Monroe, Wayne, Ontario, Yates, Seneca, Livingston, Wyoming, Genesee, or Orleans.
  • Campers must be attending Jewish overnight camp for the first time.
  • Campers must attend Jewish overnight camp for 12 days or more.
  • Campers must choose a camp from the Foundation for Jewish Camp eligible camps list.

SECOND-YEAR CAMPERS


The Farash Foundation is pleased to offer One Happy Camper Second Summer Affordability Grants for campers attending one of the approved OHC camps for a second summer and are in need of financial assistance.

Criteria

For annual household incomes of $100,000 or less, you are eligible to receive:

  • $1000 grant, if your child returns to camp for a second summer for 19+ days 
  • $500 grant, if your child returns to camp for a second summer for 12-18 days

Eligibility

  • Campers must consider themselves Jewish.
  • Campers must reside in one of the following New York counties: Monroe, Wayne, Ontario, Yates, Seneca, Livingston, Wyoming, Genesee, or Orleans.
  • Campers must be attending Jewish overnight camp for a second summer and received a one happy camper grant for the first summer.
  • Campers must attend Jewish overnight camp for 12 days or more.
  • Campers must choose a camp from the Foundation for Jewish Camp eligible camps list.
