Do you know an outstanding local social entrepreneur?
The Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2016 Farash Prize for Social Entrepreneurship, which carries a $100,000 award for the recipient’s nonprofit organization. The prize recipient will be announced Nov. 1, 2016.
The Farash Prize was established in 2012 to recognize exceptional social entrepreneurs and the organizations they created or inspired, and also to encourage others to try to address the needs of the community in new and creative ways. It honors the entrepreneurial spirit of Max Farash, who with his wife, Marian, established the Farash Foundation in 1988.
The late Thomas C. Ferraro, founder of Foodlink, won the Farash Prize in 2012. In 2014, the winner was Sister Christine Wagner, co-founder and executive director of St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center.
