SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL AND JEWISH PROGRAMS
The Foundation supports select programs internationally and in Israel as determined by the Board of Trustees. (Please note: No unsolicited requests for international funding will be considered.)
Better Together: Partnering with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), this grass-roots initiative is reinvigorating some of Israel's poorest neighborhoods.
Career Advancement: Together with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), this program provides career opportunities for Israel’s Ethiopian, Arab-Israeli, and Haredi under-served populations.
Sifriyat Pajama: Partnering with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, the focus of this program is to encourage literacy and enlighten young children about Jewish culture through the distribution of high quality books to their schools and homes.
Educating Tomorrow’s Leaders Today: Friends of Unistream bring about social change by empowering teens from underprivileged communities to build and run their own startups, and to become entrepreneurs.
Dr. Rick Hodes: Rick Hodes, a medical doctor specializing in cancer, heart disease, and spinal conditions, partners with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). Since the 1980s, he has worked in Ethiopia providing medical treatment to children suffering from heart disease (rheumatic and congenital), spine disease (TB and scoliosis), and cancer. Dr. Hodes is also the medical director of the JDC.
